Clergy cartography

05/24/2013 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

1priestmap21priestmap3Sixty-six parishes. Nine vicariates. Eight Hawaiian islands. Dozens of priests from several different dioceses and religious orders. Father Manny Hewe, the diocesan Vicar for Clergy, crafted a special picture board for the Priests’ Convocation. The board shows at which parish each priest is serving. Clergy photos are color-coded to denote whether they are from a religious order (represented by red, a color of “sacrifice”), the local diocese (green, symbolizing “stability” and connectedness to the land), or an outside diocese (colored orange, denoting a “spice” they add to Hawaii).
