Manaolana | Makana’s helpful hints: Good morning!

04/12/2013 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Last Friday during the “Collect” of the Mass, we prayed “that what we celebrate by professing the faith we may express in deeds.” Father Peter Miti said in his homily that day that the disciples were unsure of what to do with the truth of the resurrection made known to them. Father Peter said that Jesus was trying to tell them that this truth was not meant for them to keep to themselves, but to be shared with everyone.

Father Peter went on to say that Jesus gives us ways to understand this truth, to offer it as a sacrifice via the Holy Eucharist, and to share it with others through the graces and gifts he bestows upon each of us. As I walked home after receiving Jesus’ body and blood that day, I realized that through every person I see, God is giving me an opportunity to share this truth.

So as we continue to celebrate Easter, the “morning of new life,” I encourage you to join me in sharing this truth with everyone you see through a small deed: Say “Good morning” to anyone you pass and watch the seed of the joyful Truth spread. Try it J
