Photo: Celebrating the consecrated life

02/15/2013 by Hawaii Catholic Herald

Dozens of Hawaii’s religious order women and men pose for a group photo with Bishop Larry Silva at the World Day for Consecrated Life celebration Feb. 2 at the Newman Center at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. The bishop gave a special blessing to Sacred Hearts Sister Josephine Araki who celebrated the 50th anniversary of her first profession that day. Pope John Paul II established the World Day for Consecrated Life to celebrate those who have dedicated their lives to God and the church through religious vows.
