Announcements/Appointments

  • Bishop Silva has appointed Msgr. John Mbinda as Vicar Forane of Central Oahu-Molokai, effective February 1, 2013 until June 30, 2017, to complete the term of Rev. Clyde Guerreiro, ss.cc., who be leaving March 1, 2013 to take up a mission post for the Sacred Hearts Congregation in Tonga.
  • Bishop Silva announces that Rev. Robert Schwarzhaupt is a member of the Presbyteral Council, for the term February 1, 2013 to June 30, 2015.  In accord with the Bylaws, he replaces Msgr. John Mbinda in an elected seat, since Msgr. Mbinda now occupies an ex-officio seat as Vicar Forane of Central Oahu-Molokai.
  • Very Rev. Johnathan Hurrell, ss.cc., Provincial Superior of the Sacred Hearts Congregation, has appointed Rev. Richard McNally as Pastor and Rev. Yohanes Budiyanto, ss.cc., as Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Wahiawa, effective March 1, 2013. Bishop Silva has confirmed these appointments.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed Rev. Joseph Hennen as Pastor and Rev. Robert Stark, SSS, as Parochial Vicar of Malia Puka O Kalani Parish, Hilo, effective February 1, 2013.
  • Bishop Silva has appointed the following individuals to the Diocesan Planning and Building Commission as the respective Vicariate Representatives:
    • Rick Brienzo, Windward Oahu, effective February 1, 2013 until June 30, 2018.
    • Walter Clur, Maui and Lanai, effective July 1, 2013 until June 30, 2018 (reappointment).
    • Garry Dixon, Central Oahu and Molokai, effective February 1, 2013 until June 30, 2016.
    • Frank Doyle, East Honolulu, effective February 1, 2013 until June 30, 2017.
    • Margarita Leyson Hopkins, East Hawaii, effective February 1, 2013 until June 30, 2017.
